What Has Changed in Grand Theft Auto Games?
After releasing GTA 4 in 2008, Rockstar Games introduced realistic graphics in GTA 5 in 2013 with the technology available at that time. Despite being a decade-old game, Grand Theft Auto 5 still holds up today as a great-looking game. Besides the graphics, GTA games have always been open-world games with an entire city to explore and interact. However, the players could only explore certain parts of the city due to limitations.
In GTA San Andreas, Rockstar Game allowed the player “Carl Johnson” to go to the gym, get a haircut at a saloon, change clothes, and paint the cars. But it was all limited. GTA 4 did not add any new improvements to the Grand Theft Auto San Andreas; however, GTA 5 introduced trading options but did not change any major mechanics.
What can we expect from GTA 6?
In its upcoming Grand Theft Auto game, Rockstar Games should bring new elements that help players interact with the city more. For nearly two decades, since 2002, when the GTA Vice City was first released, the mechanics have remained the same. With the introduction of the latest Intel, AMD, Ryzen, and other processors and the latest graphics cards, gaming has become more realistic than in the previous decade. Here is a list of things we can expect from the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6.
Gameplay and Mechanics:
Playing GTA games is always a great experience, especially in the third person. Rockstar Games may try to make it “an everything game,” like Elon Musk trying to make X, but it will only bring poor experiences with each gameplay mechanic. So, this time, the company can work on the mechanics that actually work. From running to playing golf, driving a car, and flying, all need to have different mechanics. Whether driving a bike or a car, the new mechanics consider players’ perspectives and offer more interactive experiences.
Graphics and VR-Capabilities
There is no doubt that Rockstar Studio may have pushed the graphics of its new “GTA 6” game to their limits. However, games like Batman Arkham VR, Resident Evil 7, and The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners were released after Grand Theft Auto 5 with VR capability. Although these games are not as interactive as they can be, they offer good enjoyment.
With GTA 4 and GTA 5, Rockstar Games introduced new first-person driving mechanics, allowing the players to feel the world around them. It also helped in doing some missions and driving, like the “driving simulator”. The company also introduced a smartphone to track shops and online websites and attend calls in these titles. But if the company wants to offer something unique, it needs to re-imagine the new mechanics with the current generation.
Interactive World
According to reports, the new GTA game may have a smaller map compared to GTA 5. If that is the case, the company may introduce more interactive gameplay mechanics, allowing players to do more than just get a haircut, buy houses, and paint cars. This time, Rockstar Games may allow players to fly drones with AI cameras, take AI selfies with smartphones, and have a strong story to tell. We can only anticipate what new features and surprising bonuses will be added to the game.
The company has yet to announce the official date for the trailer launching in December. The game may launch in 2024 or early 2025. The company will likely introduce its first cinematic trailer and show the gameplay mostly during a gaming event.
